Luxury Fractional Homes Offer a Cultural Connection

To understand what Robert H. Glaze, founder and president of The Weybridge Collection, has in mind for his new equity-based luxury fractional residences is to understand his passion for art and culture.

“I don’t want the typical resort-like vacation club experience,” he says. “I am building a true second-home experience for Weybridge Collection owners, with a major additional dimension: a substantial artistic and cultural component.”

The Weybridge Collection takes its vision into areas explored in novels such as Under the Tuscan Sun, A Year in Provence, and On Mexican Time. These books inspired Glaze to create experiences highlighting each region’s cultural attractions. To that end, Weybridge Collection owners can visit local artists’ studios, tour private art collections and experience the region’s cuisine.

“I wanted to collect historic, artistic, and culturally relevant homes with the same discernment as I do when I collect fine art,” says Glaze, who travels extensively, acquiring paintings, textiles, and folk art along the way. “That’s why I call our homes a collection, not a club. The homes themselves are large and comfortable works of art.”

The Weybridge Collection is offering one-fifth interests in the nearly 6,000 square foot home, Casa Las Artes, in Tesuque, New Mexico just outside of Santa Fe. Shares are priced at $465,000. Buying a fractional interest in Casa Las Artes allows you to exchange your weeks at any of The Weybridge Collection homes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and Snowmass, Colorado. Under consideration for 2007 are residences in Umbria, Italy; Napa Valley, California; and Paris, France.
